One of the best things about this site is that you will find a merchant who you can promote his goods or services easily. This is because the program has very many merchants who need their products to be marketed.
5. I wouldn’t bother putting too much effort into social media marketing but sites like Reddit/Quora would be a good place to research products and information. Definitely start building an email list from day one.
With an assoc. program like Amazon’s, is it necessary you already hold an account with the company? And if you are running multiple web/Internet locations where it is possible to be a productive affiliate, and not a spammer, is it possible to have just a single affiliate account with a company or does each web location need to have it’s own unique connection to the affiliate being promoted/advertised? (I so hope this makes sense and is clear…..) thank you for your time band wonderful info Amy!!
To be successful as an affiliate merchant you must provide your affiliates with as much pre-made promotional content as possible. This makes their job easier and they’ll be more motivated to work with you. This includes promo videos, banner creatives, professional product images, landing pages but also email templates, text ads and more.
For those who aren’t familiar, Panda is a Google search filter that (in part) penalizes sites that have a large amount of thin or duplicated content. Panda has been a harsh filter for those using datafeeds in general – be they a merchant or an … Read More
All CPA marketers put their eggs in one basket. I’ve seen plenty of the greats go from zero to hero and vice versa several time in their careers. The smart ones learn to build their own business in the process and pimp their products to CPA newbies (where the real money is). So if your only focus is to make the most money you can I would advise you not to spend it all because that business model won’t last.
AMG provides tools and marketing assistance to help you expand the scope of your practice. Call us nosy in a good way….we learn what you do and in turn work with you to develop programs tailored to fit your personal approach.
The most common question I is related to how companies track the record of who is sending the traffic and making the sales. The simple answer is with a tracking URL (a unique link given to you by the affiliate company or product company).
So what I gather from your comment is that you don’t have to do a full blog with tons of posts and lots of different products, but a couple of pages around a product and accessories for that product. And then do another blog the same way, right?
While joining affiliate programs is a free opportunity, it’s a business – and like any business, it will cost some money to start and run it. But those costs will be associated with building, running and promoting your blog or website. There are many tools – free and paid – you can use to assist you with all of these processes. I list a few of my favorite affiliate marketing tools here.
Awesome information, very helpful for my new income stream. I have been looking at MOBE, also a HTAM program… one that requires an investment into their programs to make the real money. Do you have any insight or feedback on MOBE?
It can feel overwhelming to do all the necessary work involved in setting up your site and building your reputation. But trust me, once you’ve made that first sale, all the hard work will be worth it!
There’s a link for “Grammarly” that i have on my blog, for example, which (quite frankly) I had forgotten about. That is, until I suddenly received over $150 earlier this year seemingly out of the blue. This followed again with another $100 a few months later.
At this point, you should have a basic understanding of what affiliate marketing is and how it works. If you have any questions regarding any of this, you can always ask me in the comments section below.
There is no charge for joining an affiliate program, however, your total cost depends on what promotion technique you are using. For example, a blog post doesn’t cost a dime, but PPC marketing, email marketing, and advertising come with various price tags.
Amazon does not care that products are put in the wrong category which in part is because Amazon may not allow a seller to use certain categories that are actually the appropriate ones for the products being sold by seller.
I have a couple of blogs I’d like to turn into affiliate sites. I can’t seem to even get started with CJ (Commission Junction). When I try to join a vendor, I automatically get declined. I haven’t even started, so I have idea why I may be “blacklisted” automatically.
They also have the advantage that the merchant is often an individual rather than a company, so you can build a personal relationship with them that will increase your status as a blogger and future success as an affiliate.
The easiest way to find affiliate programs to promote is to check if the people selling products and services you love have an affiliate program – assuming those products and services would be relevant to the visitors to your blog or website. There are also multiple ways to find new quality products or services to promote to your audience based on their interests. You’ll find more information on how to do this here.
If you’re just starting out, $100 a month could seem pretty good, but it takes a lot of work to get up t0 1k visitors a day – and if you get that many, you’re much better off monetizing via affiliate ads or ads for your own product.
Depending on your business you can also offer higher commissions to affiliates that constantly send quality traffic your way. Amazon is doing this with it’s Amazon Associates program. The more people buy through affiliate links, the more commission affiliates will get:
One thing that I do notice is that the bloggers are mostly transparent about their affiliations with the product , I wonder what’s the conversion between not mention that he/she is affiliated with the product vs. saying that he/she is affiliated with the product.
This is a course all about affiliate marketing, so, of course I have an affiliate program! In order to be an affiliate, I do ask that you have taken my course. This is so I can have honest reviews and experts promoting it.
Very good point, Susan – ideally, we want products that are not too well-known so that everyone and their dogs aren’t promoting them, but well-known enough so that there’s some sort of name recognition.
